As a partner in strategic communications for the Brown campus, our goals include helping the University to sustain productive relationships with both internal and external constituents; elevating, advancing and safeguarding Brown’s mission; positioning Brown competitively among America’s leading research universities; and anticipating challenges and addressing issues through effective communications.
Our work in strategic campus communications takes many forms:
- leading communications and/or engagement strategies and content development for major campus initiatives and announcements in a way that effectively serves both internal and external constituencies
- ensuring clear, effective communications as we work with campus partners and stakeholders to navigate issues that impact Brown, its community and mission
- supporting Brown senior leaders in development of communications for University-level priorities
- helping academic and administrative units across campus sustain alignment with Brown’s values, standards and policies in their communications
- partnering with colleagues in strategic campus-based outreach about major planning efforts and complex issues, particularly in regard to University-level priorities and challenges
- ensuring that members of our community have an informed understanding of Brown’s key programs, initiatives and priorities
- managing University-level communications platforms, including Brown.edu and Today@Brown
- leading emergency communications in close collaboration with Brown’s public safety and emergency management professionals
