Logos and Identity

Every school, department, program and member of our community contributes to the excellence that is Brown. The University’s identity guidelines—including the Messaging Strategy, Visual Identity policy, and Editorial Style Guide—help ensure consistent, high-quality communications across Brown, while also supporting appropriate use of Brown’s trademarked name, logos and marks.

We are many stories, but one Brown. A strong messaging strategy helps contribute to a consistent and shared identity across the institution. The Brown University Messaging Strategy celebrates that every school, department, program, and member of our community contributes to the excellence that is Brown, and it helps deliver proof of that excellence through a shared approach to telling the Brown story.

Resources for Engaging External Vendors

Brown’s Designated Vendor Program (DVP) for External Marketing Services provides creative choice for the campus community through a pool of approved vendors with a strong record of creativity in delivering marketing communications services at Brown, as well as the skills and training to deliver projects that require an increasingly complex understanding of technology and laws.
The Brown External Print Vendor Program is a fully outsourced model for printing that requires academic and administrative units and recognized student organizations at Brown to produce “essential” print projects through a pool of approved external vendors that have entered into Participation Agreements with the University.
